Hello Everybody, I don’t know if any one of you already know, but I am
a Community Assistant in Daniell Heights Apartments. Each
year we are doing a project for the community and this year I chose to spread OS
software and Linux to the residents in an effort to persuade people to switch
from their pirated versions of Windows and MS Office to Linux to keep it legal
and keep it “real”. I have created a CD exclusively for windows users with all
the popular replacements and I chose Ubuntu 5.04 Live
CD for those who wish to try out Linux and install some windows apps at the
same time(Ubuntu Live CD has a few on it). I have $125 in my budget to pay for the blank CDs. However,
there is no frigging way I can burn this many CDs alone. If you can volunteer
to burn a few CDs please email me and I will try to arrange a meeting to give
you some blanks and the original and then pick them up. Additionally, there will be a short talk for the residents
at the community room in the Daniell Heights and
after that people will be able to ask any computer/OSS/etc questions for little
bit. We need volunteers for that too. As a reward for those who volunteer I will reserve $25 for
pizza. The date is not firmly set, but it will take place either on
Friday 15 or Sunday 17. That’s pretty much it. If you would like to
