[lug-l] Looking for a part-time sys-admin

Hello everyone,

My research group's sys-admin (me) is getting ready to graduate, leaving the group in need of someone who is familiar with basic Linux system stuff.  We are looking to hire someone to spend around 5 hours a month (possibly more if something breaks or we need to upgrade equipment).

The main duties would include:

Adding users to the NIS domain
Adding machines to the local DNS (bind9) and DHCP server
Adding users to the NAS
Upgrading MATLAB when new versions are released
Periodically updating packages (updates are not automated to avoid breaking running jobs)
Fixing things when they break
Upgrading hardware when its time

If you are motivated, there are also plenty of fun projects that I either planned or had started that you could work on as well (e.g. get Nagios back up and running, get the NAS and NIS domains talking, etc).

We would like to find someone who will be around for at least a few years so we don't have to continually train new people.

If anyone is interested, please write up a short CV (nothing fancy) and forward it to me and to Raymond Shaw (rashaw@xxxxxxx).

thanks,
Matt
