[lug-l] Linux box not finishing startup

Hello,

Please see if you can see what is happening here.    Xubuntu 12.04 LTS with last night latest updates installed on and AMD 64+ Quad core CPU with 4 Gb memory.   The spot that is stops at is the following line:

Use of qw(...) as parentheses is deprecated at /usr/share/backuppc/lib/BackupPC/Storage/Text.pm line 302

The hard drive light is on and stays on for over 20 minutes before I have shut it down.  It does not respond to and inputs or break commands by keyboard and/or mouse.  Requires power button to get it shut down and do a restart from there.  The screen will shutdown do to lack of activity also after a time period and can not activate after it goes down even with a shut down of the screen.  If you need a screen shot I have a couple jpgs of the screen at the point of hang.
