Re: [lug-l] Meeting Minutes: 2015-10-23

To clarify, we are currently looking into acquiring a new server which we would name mirrors.lug.mtu.edu. Then we would slowly migrate the mirrors we currently provide to the new server.

This way we would have a dedicated box which only did one thing, this would make maintenance much easier as 99% of the services we currently provide live on Zaphod, so any maintenance we want to do has to be much more carefully planned. If we move the mirrors to their own server it would make life much easier for the current sysadmins and for the future members of LUG -- while at the same time it would boost the stability of our mirroring service, providing a better experience for anyone who uses our mirrors.

What was said about "Thoughts on migrating mirrors from lug.mtu.edu to mirrors.lug.mtu.edu" ? I would argue for not changing to mirrors.lug but I'd like to hear what the benefits are for changing.
