[lug-l] 9/16 Meeting Follow Up

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to quickly mention some of the topics that came up at todays meeting.

First and foremost, we are in need of a replacement Advisor as Soner Onder is on sabbatical. Please email me or the list with new Advisor ideas. It looks like I was wrong in the meeting about the Advisor needing to be a Professor. According to the Student Organization Advisor Statement, "A University advisor for registered student organizations must be a full-time employee of Michigan Technological University." (Advisor Statement).

Next up, we are looking for someone to take over as the Public Relations Officer. The official description is "S/he is the liaison between the LUG, the student body, faculty, and administration.". If this is something that interests you or if you would just like more information send me an email.

Thirdly, we are looking for presentation ideas for our weekly meetings. If you have a topic that you'd like to see a presentation on fill out the form here: https://www.involvement.mtu.edu/form/start/52561

The fourth item that came up is t-shirts. We'd like to get new t-shirts this semester. If anyone has an idea on a design send me an email.

Finally, the next meeting will be next Tuesday at 6:00pm EST in Rehki 101.
