I've used:
(XLink Kai) http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/
(XBConnet) http://www.xbconnect.com/

to play the original xbox over the internet without having to pay for xbox
live.  I haven't used it for the 360 so I don't know how well it will work
for you, but it worked well for me when I had my original.
