I assume you just have a standard Intel based PC, right? In that case you'll need the i386 version. If it's a Mac, the PPC version will most likely be what you're looking for. If it's a 64-bit AMD computer, the x86_64 is an option (at least I think only the AMD 64-bit is supported). The reason for not choosing the 64-bit version though would be application compatibility. Some apps won't run under it if they are pre-compiled.

I see that you're a CSS major, so you'll be in the CS labs right? Your quota is not big enough to handle an entire ISO, so make sure you download it to /scratch on that machine. Once you burn it, you can either delete it from /scratch, or leave it there. It doesn't count against you in anyway, and once it gets too full, the sysadmin will probably flush the partition.

I've never burned ISO's in the lab, but I see that k3b is installed. I recommend using it if you can figure it out.
