Re: Filesystems

I don't mean to start any sort of a flamewar, but ReiserFS 3 is absolute shit. Sure it's fast (or people say it is), but it has always had a real
reliability problem.
Describing something as "absolute shit" is not a way to avoid a
flamewar. That is like saying to somebody, "no offence, but you are
an asshole".
What reliability problem? I have trusted nearly all of my data to
ReiserFS since 2.4.5, and have not had a single issue. There were a
couple specific kernels that had Reiser problems, but I never upgrade
a kernel right away anyway on a production system. I wait a week or
two for any issues to crop up that I might be concerned about. I have
heard of issues with Reiser4, but nothing but FUD about Reiser3. In
my experience, it works just fine.
I don't know if ext3 is better, but 100% reliability is hard to
improve upon, and it seems plenty fast enough to use productively,
which is good enough for me.
