Re: [lug-l] Request help for install



Is there a separate BIOS option to enable "legacy boot"?  I got Mint working on my sister's Win8 laptap and I thought that was a separate option.

This is what I was going to suggest, but you beat me to it.  Do a search on YouTube for disabling uefi in the bios.  I remember seeing a number of videos just a few weeks ago on this topic.

It’s most likely because your laptop has UEFI and secure boot enabled. If you look through the bios there should be something that you can disable. After that it should be smooth sailing.
