Re: A1000 systems and 18GB SCA drives



If I remember correctly (having been involved in their removal from
service), the cabling came with either the A1000's or the host adapters.
You might inquire, as they may not have a use for any of that equipment
now.  It would also be useful to review the manual(s) from Sun.

In reference to the drive size, I believe the 8-drive chassis is 1.6"
drives, while the 12-drive chassis is 1".  They have different
capacities that may be tied to the controller, and certain requirements
for the drives, IIRC.  Just be aware before swapping drives around or
buying new ones.  A1000's are pickier about that sort of thing than
modern JBOD and RAID boxes.
