vote on constitution please!

New people can't vote unless they've been to 2 meetings

Audits this year.. deadlines are in a week

Needs to pass or we don't exist

Previous constitution a mess and didn't satisfy requirements

Rewritten constitution based on SLI guidelines

    Dissolution cause

    What happens to mirrors?

    Removal of officers if they screw up enough

Constitution:

    Mostly the same

    Codify mirrors

    Define focus on Linux education

    Sysadmins defined

        We had them defined but were unofficial

        New guidelines

        Appointed and have to be re-appointed at the end of year by eboard

        Alumni can't be sysadmins

            We don't want to be dependent on a large pool of alumni

            Unreliable since they aren't fully associated with MTU or the org

    Officer recall

        2/3 all voting members can decide to remove officers

        If mirrors goes down for 2 weeks and it's not fixed then the whole eboard is up for re-election

        Has caused problems before

    Dissolution

        Mirrors goes to IT or related org with similar interest

        It needs to stay up

        would IT take mirrors?

            Probably, they use it and should care

    Faster on campus than other mirrors servers

    Most major distros mirrored

    fun little thing

    Linux server that we run and you can get a login to ssh in

    You can do what you want within reason

        No compromising, mining, AI, illegal stuff

    You get a website

        public_html directory for web stuff

        You can put web files there

    Choose your username as well (unlike MTU student pages)

    And keep it as alumni

    Some MTU usernames are weird
