Until your issue is resolved, here are somethings you can do in the
meantime: 1. Install virtualbox ( https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads ) and run Mint as a VM. Be sure to install vbox additions ( virtual box additions ( there should be a tutorial for it somewhere) ). Even if you're computer isn't a super high end beast, it should be fine - just no fullscreen HD video. 2. Post your computer model number and such so one of us can do some more specific research. 3.
